Wild fun - We're making theatre!

👉 A series of theatre workshops to prepare a theatrical performance.

Deadline: 10-14 July 2023
RONDO Centre for Animation and Revitalisation, 166 Limanowskiego St.

During the workshop, children will learn about the process of building a performance, from the writing of the script to the final show. During the five-day intensive classes, participants will go through the entire process of preparing a theatrical performance. In the interdisciplinary classes, the children will be able to realise their talents: musical, acting, dancing, artistic, organisational. And with "wild fun" the children, together with the instructors, will prepare the script, set design, costumes, stage movement and the actors' roles.

Programme:

Monday 10.07.2023 - 2 workshops
09:00 - 10:30 - We will create costumes for the performance from available eco-materials. We will create fantastic objects to support the young actors on stage.

10:30 - 11:00 - Breakfast break

11:00 - 12:30 - Dramatic storytelling - the realm of naughty. The role-play will be a reason to improvise and act in structure. There will be no end to our creativity. We will create, write, act and also take part in a unique story. Using drama techniques and play pedagogy we will learn about our boundaries and values.

Tuesday 11.07.2023 - 2 workshops

09:00 - 10:30 - Interpretation, stage games based on actions around text. Playing with the voice. Learning and singing songs from an accepted script.

10:30 - 11:00 - Breakfast break

11:00 - 12:30 - We create elements of the stage space (used in the prepared show), we will explore phenomena related to the plasticity of movement, the plasticity of the stage space, the plasticity of the stage design with the use of props and decoration and the stage itself. 

Wednesday 12.07.2023 - 2 workshops

09:00 - 10:30 - Theatre games, improvisation

Can everything be a pretext for creation? What does it mean to play? What is an acting task, an etude? With what, with whom does the actor interact. Play sketches, stage miniatures, drama techniques, improvisation games, improvised narratives are a proposal to explore theatre and improvisation. What topics are important to us?, what topics do we like?, what do we like to talk about?, what do we want to know? 

10:30 - 11:00 - Breakfast break

11:00 - 12:30 - Creative and integrative theatre games, acting tasks, story free storytelling. Improvisations (character building by participants based on scenes, self-made theatre.

Thursday 13.07.2023 - 2 workshops

09:00 - 10:30 - First part: Building stage awareness through play, active participation, preparatory rehearsals of the staging of the adopted scenario.

Second part: Activities with theatrical light, playing with shadow theatre - learning to be aware of 'being in the light', being on stage. Activities with colour and its influence on costume and decoration.

10:30 - 11:00 - Breakfast break

11:00 - 12:30 - Object theatre games about the search for fun - i.e. the adventures of objects on the journey to happiness and object theatre activities. The workshop will introduce participants to the basic principles of animating an object. We will learn the rules of the game and look for ways to convey the emotions of objects. Perhaps these will be internal monologues, improvised monologues or maybe dialogues. We will act out the adventures we have created in front of our colleagues and they will be a reason to discuss important topics and theatrical discussions.

Friday 14.07.2023 - 2 workshops

09:00 - 10:30 - Preparation for the final show: costume rehearsals, lighting rehearsals

10:30 - 11:00 - Breakfast break

11:00 - 12:30 - Demonstration of the workshop work, video recording of the demonstration (for Parents).
